Your practice what you preach, as you are easily one of the most trustworthy people I know, and are always there to help people out. I've always been taught that trust the hardest thing to mend, so why not just put in the effort to maintain it! Woo. Looking forward to the next post.

Re: The Most Valuable Thing

@JulieTyios A big part of this post should be dedicated to you, Julie! Thank you for everything, and I'm sure our professional lives will cross again soon. :)

Re: The Most Valuable Thing

Hayden, you are amazing. You kick butt in every aspect and you fully deserve every ounce of trust that people give to you - you've earned it. Onward! I know you will rock at whatever you do, and someday I hope that we can work together again. :)

Re: Google+!

Oh the irony. (like the 1960 Kennedy-Nixon debate http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... "People who watched the debate on television overwhelmingly believed Kennedy had won, while radio listeners (a smaller audience) believed Nixon had won.")

I'm committed to serving students and I'm glad to know there are people like you who take part in the discourse on student issues.

Thank you. Keeping in mind that I was listening to the recording and was not present at the actual debate, sometimes it can be hard to get a good sense of underlying tones and communication. It might not be the best answer to where I got my impression from, but I guess that's the best I can really give here. After all, elections still revolve mostly around perception don't they?

Good luck on the campaign trail! I think you're definitely an impressive candidate, and I am eager to see how things evolve.

Re: Thoughts on the FedS Election Debate

Hayden,

It's cool.

Impressions can be different between listening to and viewing debates. It is natural for those who lead a university to want more resources, as it is perfectly reasonable for the students of that university to expect to be treated fairly.

I have already served on the UW Senate and the Board of Governors. From my work there and in other positions, I know, have worked and interacted with faculty, administrators, students, and staff at all levels of the university. I have effectively advocated for students while maintaining good relations with others.

I'd be please to talk to you more about my experience and my views of senate and our university. I'd be interested in hearing more of your thoughts.

Thank you.

Ryan Chen-Wing

Re: Thoughts on the FedS Election Debate

Hey Hayden,

I'm not sure where you got your impression of my 'implicit perspective,' but I thought it would be good to comment to elaborate on my views and my experience.

Students and admin will have their own perspectives on what is best for the university.
